Food drop open on Thursday

Outreach ministers from Tomoka United Methodist Church will be in the church parking lot from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday, May 21, to collect donations of nonperishable food to help homeless families with children through the COVID-19 crisis. The items will be delivered to Family Renew Community for distribution to families in our 32 apartments in Holly Hill, Daytona Beach and DeLand. The church is at 100 Old Tomoka Road, Ormond Beach.

Canned meats and meals (hearty soups/stews/pastas), breakfast cereals (including sweet cereals for children), juice boxes and other easy-to-prepare,  non-refrigerated groceries will be especially appreciated by the families. Other essential items for personal care and protection will be gratefully accepted, but no clothing or housewares are requested.

Collection organizer Winston Churchill says the collection will be repeated every Thursday for at least several weeks.

Tomoka United Methodist Church is one of 21 religious congregations that are part of Family Renew Community. If you belong to any of these congregations, YOU are Family Renew!
