We have a single mom of four on the DeLand campus who has been struggling after the death of her mother, but through Family Renew Community has found the courage to find out what she needs to do to regain her medical assistant’s certification so she can provide a better life for her family.
She told us that the only other person who made her feel like she was worth anything was her mother, but because we encourage her and we honestly ask how she is doing and show that we genuinely care, she feels like she really can do better for her family and she is off to a great beginning!
Prayer List
Please keep several of our families in your prayers who have part-time jobs and need to find full-time jobs with benefits. Some have taken part-time jobs to get their employment established and their feet wet. And, some parents have had doors open to apply for full-time jobs. Please pray for favor for these hard working individuals and employers with a heart to give each of them a chance.
Wish List
We are in need of a microwave in good condition for one of our families. The Thrift Store has given all the available microwaves to the existing apartments and remember when a family leaves the program they are allowed to take their household items including the microwave if needed.
The families could really use coffee for the parents and fruit juice for the children.
We can always use paper products like toilet paper, napkins and paper towels for our families.
Scripture Reminder
“For as the soil makes the sprout come up and a garden causes seeds to grow, so the Sovereign Lord will make righteousness and praise spring up before all nations.” Isaiah 61:1
