Motherhood and homelessness

Motherhood, Homelessness, and how you help by supporting Family Renew Community

The typical homeless family is composed of a single mother with her two young children.*

Family Renew Community welcomes homeless parents with children in its 32 apartments, including 11 in Daytona Beach reserved exclusively for families headed by single moms.

More than 90% of homeless mothers report they have been physically and/or sexually assaulted in their lifetime.*

Family Renew Community’s social services professionals are trained in trauma-informed care to offer compassionate support to mothers as they lift their families out of homelessness.

Stressed by their circumstances, mothers experiencing homelessness have higher rates of depressive disorders than women in general.*

Family Renew Community connects homeless mothers with community resources to restore and protect their mental, physical and spiritual well-being.
