Selection of Resident Candidates
The Board Bites time during the March 2021 board meeting was dedicated to allowing Executive Director Tony Deobil to answer the following questions:
What makes a “good” candidate for our program?
What criteria do you use for selection?
In addition, there were some concerns about our intake forms. The following issues were raised:
- Do these forms need to be updated?
- Are they modeled after another agency similar to ours?
- Has an attorney reviewed these forms for their legal potency?
- Do we check references?
- Do we obtain a formal background check?
- How do we handle a dishonorable discharge from any military service?
- Do we inquire about prior arrests? Convictions?

Do we need to establish a Work Group to review these forms?
