Scripture says that if we are obedient God will open the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing. Over the last few weeks, we have witnessed God’s overwhelming provision. We received two pallets full of diapers for our families after the Junior League of Daytona Beach closed out its diaper bank. (Russ and the outreach team from Calvary Christian Center offered to deliver what was left in the warehouse to us and other local organizations.) Then we received a call from a trucking company that had 58 cases of high-end frozen meals that were on route to a local supermarket and couldn’t be delivered (Thank you, Conagra and Publix!). And, it took a semi-truck and a large cargo truck to deliver both blessings!
Our Secret Attic Thrift Store is exploring a possible expansion. We will be in the need of some additional volunteers especially for cashiers and people to help pick up and move furniture. You can call the Thrift Store at 386-615-3837 to find out more, or submit our Volunteer Inquiry Form.
One of our dads was accepted in an electrician’s apprenticeship program. Thanks to a grant from the Minto Foundation to fund vocational training for our parents experiencing homelessness with their children, we were able to help him with the cost of the program. After we put out the word that he needed tools, those were donated, too. He is excited and ready to start his training. Please pray for his success as he knows this is a great pathway to help him and his family to be and remain successful.
With the children back in school, we want to send them on their way with a good breakfast. We always need cereal and fruit juice for our food pantries on each campus. So please consider donating some items for each of our campuses!
“Bring the full tithes into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house; and thereby put me to the test, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour down for you an overflowing blessing.” Malachi 3:10
